Kiyo pulloverKiyo (FlexPattern #0804) -- The "dragon skin" stitch pattern found in one of Barbara Walker's stitch dictionaries works up beautifully in SWTC's Phoenix, a next-to-the-skin-soft tape yarn made from soybeans. The stitch pattern also inspired the name of this design -- a Japanese legend tells us that Kiyo was a waitress who turned herself into a dragon to take revenge on a suitor who spurned her advances. (Yikes!) The 3/4-length sleeves with eyelet insets are the only remaining trace of her feminine side. You know...the non-dragon part.

Knitted with worsted yarn at 5.25 sts per inch. Five sizes for finished chest measurements from 36.5-53" (93-135 cm). The model was made with SWTC's Phoenix..

Pattern includes charts and line-by-line instructions for both stitch patterns. Note: A revised version of this pattern was issued on 1-26-2009 to correct a misplaced paragraph in the sleeve increase section.
